Beauty

There are many obvious ways of becoming more beautiful all around that are right in front of our noses, we just choose the difficult routes instead because of how this world teaches us to live.

Here are 4 simple things that I've learned recently:

1) The phrase "beauty sleep" is no lie. Puffy, dark bags under the eyes can be avoided! No make-up or concealers required.

2) Eat an orange every day. They are full of antioxidants that protect skin and prevent signs of aging!

3) This may sound stupid, but be friendly. It'll boost your own positivity level and make you happy. Being happy makes your face pleasant, preventing stress wrinkles. And smiling is always more beautiful than a frown. :)

4) Wear comfortable clothes. Yes, I love keeping up with the latest trends in fashion. People will wear so many ridiculous things though and say "well beauty is pain" but I disagree. If you're uncomfortable in those 6 inch stilettos, DON'T WEAR THEM. When you're comfortable, you're not only happier in your own skin but also a lot of the time end up dressing more modest. AND, we all know modest is hottest.

The reason I wanted to share these few things is because I was encouraged and motivated even by just reading them. I wish that I could think less about what the world's view of beauty is. I'd rather think about being healthy and happy, because I know that is what true beauty looks like. We were all made beautiful in our own ways, why are we having such a hard time embracing them?

Tasty.

Not gonna lie, Mike's Hard is the perfect drink for a hot, sunny, summer day.
My dad says it's candy liquid but he's into dark Belgium beers, which I'll occasionally enjoy with him.

On a separate not, this shirt used to be long-sleeved, but I cut it to make it a cute tank-top.
Bohemian style is one of my favorites!

Color.

I took this in a coffee shop one morning when I was dressed like a total hipster.
That painting behind there was for sale and I was very tempted to buy it.
I love color and during the summer, it's so much easier to dress colorful.
The sky is bluer, the grass is greener... and it's just more acceptable to wear bright colors.

Long boarding.

I've got a new hobby!
Long boarding is so fun and so peaceful.
I still slip off a lot but pretty soon, I'll be a pro. (;

Rompers are my favorite.

Thought I would share what I was wearing when the little girls in my last post hated on it.
I'm obsessed with rompers!
They're the most comfortable, cute articles of clothing I've ever come across.
You can dress them up or keep it dressed down.
Pretty soon, those young girls will realize how "in" rompers are becoming and probably buy the same one.
It's from Target if anyone wants to know!

Mini Mean Girls

I am appalled how so many young girls, starting at around age 11, think it's okay to be mean. Everyone has a frustrating streak, I know. And of course, girls are known for being dramatic and manipulative. But to see it in such young girls is so discouraging. Just today, I took the kids I nanny to an elementary school where they play baseball and I went inside the building to go to the bathroom. There were a couple, probably 12 year old, girls walking past me and I heard them whisper to each other, "What is she wearing? She looks so weird. Ew!" And laughing to themselves at their very clever humor. They led me to tears.
Just kidding.
They're 12.
Anyway, it wasn't a HUGE disaster but it just made me think about so many instances where I see young girls acting out and it makes me worry for that generation of girls. And boys. Those poor boys!
